Villa Långstrand is approximately 90 minutes (about 100 km) from Helsinki Airport. The journey is straightforward and does not require travelling to remote parts of Finland.
The easiest and most flexible way to arrive is by car. Driving time is around 1.5 hours, and there is free private parking on site. Having a car is also convenient for grocery shopping and exploring the surrounding archipelago.
It is also possible to arrive by train and taxi. Trains run from Helsinki Airport to Karjaa (Karis) station and the journey takes about one hour. From Karjaa station, a taxi ride to Villa Långstrand takes approximately 25–30 minutes.
A direct taxi or private transfer from Helsinki Airport is also possible and takes around 1.5 hours. This option is often preferred by guests who want a simple, door-to-door journey.
Public transport can take you part of the way, but the final section to the estate requires a taxi or car. Villa Långstrand is intentionally located in a quiet coastal area with no nearby bus stops, which helps ensure privacy and silence. Guests should also note that the nearest grocery stores are about a 20-minute drive away, so planning shopping in advance is recommended if travelling without a car.
The best time to visit the Finnish archipelago is from late spring to early autumn, when the days are long and nature is at its most vibrant. Each season has its own character, depending on what kind of experience you are looking for.
Late May and June are calm and fresh, with long daylight hours and fewer visitors. This is a great time for walking, swimming in cooler water, and enjoying the quiet atmosphere of the coast.
July is the warmest month and the peak of summer. The sea is at its warmest, days are very long, and nearby coastal towns are lively. This period is ideal for swimming, boating, and family holidays.
August and early September are especially popular with international guests who prefer a more peaceful stay. The sea is still warm, evenings become darker again, and the atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried. This is often considered the best balance between summer weather and privacy.
Spring and autumn are also excellent for guests who enjoy nature, sauna, and silence. These shoulder seasons offer fewer people, crisp air, and beautiful light, making them ideal for couples and small groups looking to slow down.
Summer in the Finnish archipelago is generally mild and comfortable. Daytime temperatures typically range from around 18 to 25°C, with some warmer days in July. Evenings are cooler, especially by the sea, so light layers are recommended.
The long summer days are one of the highlights of the season. From late May to July, daylight lasts well into the evening, creating a relaxed atmosphere for outdoor dining, swimming, and spending time by the water.
Weather conditions can change, as in any coastal area. Sunny days are common, but occasional rain or wind is possible. This is part of the natural rhythm of the archipelago and rarely affects planned activities for long.
Overall, summer weather in the archipelago is well suited for outdoor living, sauna, swimming, and exploring the coastline without the extreme heat often experienced in southern Europe.
